Note: I didn’t use exact measurements for this recipe, so you can adjust to make as much or as little as you’d like. Simply keep a 3-to-1 ratio of cornstarch to frosting. A printable copy of this non-toxic play dough recipe is available at the end of the post.

How to Make Edible Play Dough with Frosting

Start by combining about a teaspoon of your cornstarch with water in a medium mixing bowl. Stir until cornstarch is fully dissolved in water.

Add your frosting to the bowl and stir a couple times. Add the rest of your cornstarch little by little until the mixture clumps together to form a batter. As it thickens, it may be easier to mix with your hands to better incorporate the ingredients.

If the batter is still sticky, continue adding cornstarch a spoonful at a time until you have a soft, moldable ball of dough that does not stick to hands.

Now the fun part — add sprinkles, roll, and make your “cakes”!

Course: Edible Play Dough

Stir together 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 1 Tablespoon water in a medium mixing bowl until cornstarch is full dissolved.

Add your frosting to the bowl and stir to combine.

Add the rest of your cornstarch little by little until the mixture clumps together to form a batter. 

Finish kneading by hand.
